| Well, I haven't been updating because I just don't have that much to talk about...but now I do.
After our Monday night bible study, the guys went to Northwood Middle School to play basketball. My brother opened the gym for us, and we had a great time. Seriously, it was probably some of the ugliest games of basketball I have ever been a part of. None of us could shoot, dribble, or rebound. We probably could have been beaten by a girls team.
However, I realized something last night about our group. I came to realize how special the college guys are to me. They have always been a HUGE part of my life, but last night I felt a connection to all of them that I never felt before. Instead of just being friends, all of them felt like my brothers. We are constantly taught in the Word about the importance of being apart of the body of Christ. Last night, for the first time, I felt our group has become more than a group...we have become a family. We are all far from perfect...we continually make mistakes and frustrate each other. But we know, that in the end, we still need each other. We need each other's encouragement, patience, and strength. God amazes me how he brings people together. He has brought together a group of the goofiest, funniest, and out of control young men. However, at the center of it all, Christ stands!
"God, I praise you for the men you have placed in my life. Thank you for guys that are fun, crazy, and a little stupid. But most importantly, thank you for their hearts that burn for you. You receive all the praise and glory for the blessings you have poured on me. Thank you so much!" |
